Eventually, when we’re all sorted out and fully recovered, I’ll publish an itinerary of what we did with details so that if anyone is interested in doing any of the activities will be able to use it as a guide.
In the meantime here are the videos and don’t forget to check back soon for the final video!!!
Thanks for all the support!
Day 1 Hualien – Rivertracing, the Ami harvest festival and the Nanbin night market.
Day 2 Ruishui and Taidong – White water rafting and the old Taidong train station.
Day 3 Taidong and Gaotai – Quad biking, paragliding and the Bunun aboriginal centre
Day 4 Zhiben – Hiking and hot springs….. and rain, lots of it
Very great to see this…
Thanks for sharing…

Entertainment at one stop
Hey like the video, man, good luck! You guys made Mandarin news. The East Coast is breath taking and I've been meaning to go back for a long time.
You should really use the title box for your posts instead of sticking it directly into the text body. If you did something like put the English and Chinese into your title, then it would show up in your list of previous posts automatically without the extra words from the post body or weird ellipsis at the end. It'd be like your list of links on the side, but automatic.
Cheers for the advice! Trying to sort it out now. For some reason the post title was switched off so i hadn't noticed it.
Any idea how to make a list of previous posts?
You need to make sure archives (Blog Archive) is enabled. The links to other posts you want to highlight is cool, but with archives, all your posts are easy available by chronological order.
Thanks for that! I actually had the archive in the beginning but i didn't the way you couldn't look at past months hikes individually. It only lets you look at an entire month so i create my own links.
Amazing! I like your itinerary.
Thanks. We had a great time shooting the video and doing the trip!
Like you guys hiking a lot. It Looks so fun and with lots of adventures. I relly enjoy watching you guys YouTube! Have you guys hiked in the tribal areas?
Hi there
Wow, amazing site, well deserved of the blog award!
I have a friend coming to visit next weekend and was thinking of doing your ‘day 3’ – quad biking & paragliding on sunday 2nd May. The day before we’ll be going to the Ba Yan hotspring and wanted to ask a few questions…
1, I was wondering if you could advise how to get from Yangming Shan to Taidong.
2, There are hostels to stay at in Taidong right? Any recommendations.
3, Do you have contact details for the quad biking & paragliding? Any advise for these?
4, How far from the quad biking to paragliding and how to get there?
Thanks for any help.
Jim
Hi Jim
There’s not really a good way to get from Yangmingshan to Taidong. You’d need to come back into Taipei and either take a train from the main station or fly from Songshan. It takes about 5 hours by train. Not sure about flights.
There are a lot of places to stay in Taidong but I haven’t got any recommendations. We just stayed in a cheap hotel that wasn’t particularly nice.
The paragliding and the quad biking are at the same place. There is a bus you can take but we just took a taxi and negotiated the price, 600NT. The name of the place is Gao Tai. There’s a guy there called Chris and he speaks excellent English.
Hope that helps!

To whom it may concern,
I live in Taoyuan County Taiwan. I would like to take my boyfriend paragliding on October 24th for his birthday. He is 188cm and 100 kilos. Is this possible? where is the closest site to us to do tandem?
thanx,
THELIS
I know you can do it at Green bay by Wanli.

[…] If you enjoy fun or extreme activities, there is no lack of exciting options in Formosa Taiwan. River-tracing, paragliding in Puli, trekking in Taroko Gorge, snorkelling, surfing or windsurfing in Penghu, are just a handful of activities which you can try in Taiwan. However, do check out the insurance coverage for each activity and whatever comes, safety always comes first. For more ideas, click here. […]
